Epic Views of Dubrovnik That’ll Take Your Breath Away

Epic Views of Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is an absolute stunnerno surprise it got cast in the Game of Thrones as King’s Landing. But while strolling its charming streets is like walking through a medieval movie set, seeing Dubrovnik from above or afar is a whole different level ofwow.”

Here are a few spots that’ll give you that goosebump-inducing view:

Dubrovnik City Walls

These iconic walls wrap around the Old Town and offer plenty of Instagram-worthy angles. For the best views, head to Minčeta Tower — the highest point on the walls and basically Dubrovnik’s version of the VIP lounge.

Heads up: It’s not free (currently €40 as of 2025 ), and it can get a bit crowded.

Srđ Hill

For that jaw-dropping sunset shot, Srđ Hill is the place to be. This mountain looms above Dubrovnik, allowing you to see excellent views.

You can get there by:

  • Cable car
  • Hiking
  • Driving

Pro tip: If you drive, the road up is very narrow. We held our breath more than once as we squeezed past oncoming cars. But once you reach the top—worth every gasp.

The Port Near Pile Gate

Just outside Pile Gate, there’s a tiny port with a big payoff: it offers a fabulous angle of Fort Lovrijenac and Dubrovnik’s majestic walls. It’s a great spot for a breather and a few postcard-worthy snaps—plus, it’s free, which is always a win.

Speaking of Fort Lovrijenac – this place played the Red Keep in Game of Thrones. Beyond its cinematic fame, it also offers a fantastic view of the Old Town from across the water. Bonus: Entry is included with your City Walls ticket.

From the water

There are tons of ways to see Dubrovnik from the sea — from kayaking tours to private boat excursions. We went for the chilled-out option and took a ferry to Lokrum Island.

Floating away from the city gives you some incredible angles for photos.
