Højriis Slot is a manor house dating back to 15th century. Out of all manors and castles that I was at, this one was the most entertaining so far.
When you enter the manor grounds you are transported to year 1929 and you have to solve a murder mystery.
Spøttrup Middelalderborg is Denmark’s most well-preserved medieval castle. It was built in the 1520s and it was quite remarkable for its time as it had two moats for the defens
The Mønsted Limestone Mine is the largest limestone mine in the world. There are around 60km of tunnels, out of which 2 km are illuminated. It is also the largest hibernation place for bats.
Himmelbjerget or Sky Mountain in English is in contarary to what the name might suggest just a hill 🙂
Rømø is an island where you can find widest beach in Europe. I ended up there just by accident and it was the best random decision I have made!
Mandø is an island close to Ribe. What makes this island amazing, is that you have to plan a trip there according to the tides. Twice a day it is not possible to get there due to a road being underwater!
Ribe is Denmark’s and Scandinavian’s oldest town, established in the early eighth century.
As Ribe is really old city, you can find a lot of firsts and only’s in this place.
Esbjerg – the city itself is nothing spectacular, however the fact that it’s located next to the North Sea and the Wadden Sea National Park, is what makes the place amazing.
This year I decided its time to discover Denmark during summer. Why I didn’t do it during 5 years I am here? “Because what can be interesting in Denmark , huh ?” thinking 😉 And belive me, all my danish friends thought I am crazy to spend my holidays driving through Jutland.
They were so wrong!
This time I decided to try Rib Boats. What are those? Well, a high-speed boats! As a proper speed boats they can accelerate up to 130-140km/h ! And that means, it’s a lot of fun, especially when taking turns 😀
The show was both amazing and weird, but mostly really amazing. It was basing on Hieronymus Bosch most popular painting “The Garden of Earthly” Delights, which is a very peculiar painting.
As the festival is slowly coming to the end I had to go and check it out! And that was also excellent excuse for a biking trip – the September weather right now is just perfect for that!
The time to fly finally arrived 😉 Thanks to Copenhagen Air Experience I didn’t have to jump out of a plane to do that!
The ride was awesome! Whet else can I say! You could see the whole city center from above, all the sights you know and you go to.
As in the weekend the weather was, let’s be brave and say it out loud, awesome, I decided to go to the beach.
To our surprise when we arrived at the location we found out that the water was suuuuuper warm, ankle height and extra clear!
